It seems as if there is a battle brewing in the mobile device market, and for once it doesn’t involve Apple. No, this battle is between Android and the latest front in Microsoft’s attempt to gain dominance in the mobile device market. Windows Phone 7 has been getting some decent publicity, but as of yet, Android still appears to be winning that battle, as there are five phones out there that run on Windows Phone 7, there are already 12 cell phones that run on Android, and as anyone who knows math knows, that’s more than a 2 to 1 advantage for Android at this point. So what does the future hold? It appears that Android will keep its control over Microsoft, as three of the phones being offered by Microsoft have price tags of $199.99, where as a large number of upcoming Android devices will retail for under $100. Perhaps in the long run, Microsoft’s name might gain it a large chunk of the mobile market, right now, and in the forseeable future, Android will be winning this battle.
